I am employed as an executive jet pilot (Falcon 900) in the Middle East and I have been a freelance writer for many years. Normally, I ride alone at night, especially during hot, humid summer months when the daytime temperatures are mind numbing but the nights cool to somewhere between 90 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
During the six months of non-summer, the U.A.E. (United Arab Emirates) is a biker’s paradise of cool temperatures and light breezes. Most of the roads in the U.A.E. are long, straight and well maintained, rather like Arizona and on into Death Valley. Motorcycle riding, once you’re outside the city, is pretty laid back and you can relax and watch the scenery while keeping a wary eye out for the wandering goat or camel herd that can stray onto the road in search of dinner.
